Mediterranean

The world's most storied coastline, from the Côte d'Azur to the Aegean.

From mid-May to late September the Mediterranean operates as a single yachting season. Itineraries typically open on the French Riviera, slide east through Portofino and the Amalfi Coast, cross to the Ionian in the first week of July, then finish in the Cyclades or the Dalmatian islands. Our advisors place charters across every micro-region: Balearics for July heat, Corsica and Sardinia for shoulder weeks, Greece and Turkey for late-August calm, Monaco for September race weekends. Berths here are the scarcest resource in yachting, plan ten to twelve months out for anything over fifty metres.

Frequently Asked

Mediterranean, practical answers.

Do I pay VAT on a Med charter?
Yes. France, Spain, Italy, Croatia and Greece all charge VAT on charter fees at rates between 7.5% and 24%, occasionally reduced under the French Commercial Exemption when the itinerary spends sufficient time in international waters. Our advisors structure each contract so you see the all-in figure up front.
When should I book for peak season?
The top twenty charter yachts in the Med are contracted by February. For July and August, aim to book before Christmas. Shoulder weeks in May, June, late September and October are materially easier and often 20% less expensive.
Can I change itinerary once aboard?
Yes, all MYBA contracts allow you and the Captain to adapt the route for weather, guest preference, or event calendars. You are never locked into a fixed course.
Are pets welcome?
On many yachts yes, though it is always Captain's discretion and the contract must be annotated before departure. We know which yachts are truly dog-friendly and which simply tolerate it.
