Middle East

A winter season growing at double-digit pace.

Five years ago the Middle East as a yachting destination meant two events, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and the Dubai Boat Show. Today it is a full winter season. The Red Sea has opened to private tourism with new marinas in NEOM, Tabuk and Jeddah. Oman offers some of the most dramatic, empty cruising anywhere in the world, the Musandam fjords are the Middle East's answer to the Norwegian fjords. Weather is reliably blue-sky November through March, dropping out of operational comfort from May to September when summer temperatures in the Gulf exceed 45°C. Demand is growing faster than the local fleet can absorb, we now routinely reposition Med yachts east for the winter.

Frequently Asked

Middle East, practical answers.

Can non-GCC nationals charter in the UAE?
Yes, on yachts with a charter licence issued by the Dubai Harbour Authority or Abu Dhabi Ports. Our advisors confirm the paperwork before contract.
Is alcohol permitted aboard?
Aboard private yachts cruising in international waters, yes. Inside territorial waters of Saudi Arabia or Kuwait, no.
Are the Red Sea reefs comparable to the Maldives?
Better, in our experience. Rivalled only by Raja Ampat.
What about piracy / security?
Operational risk is assessed per-itinerary by a dedicated maritime security advisor we partner with. Most Middle East cruising is considered low-risk.
